Little League Points to Remember

– No “on-deck” batter in the dugout/bench or behind a fence at any time!  No player will stand in the dugout/bench with a bat in his hands.  The first batter in an inning may take practice swings outside the dugout away from pitcher warm-ups.
– No coach may pick up a bat during the game.  (Must be a player, off the bench, with a helmet on)
– Catcher’s chest protector must be the long model.  (Cannot be tucked up).
– Catcher’s mask must   have a separate throat protector attached to the mask, even if a “hockey style’ mask
– Non-player warming up the outfielders along the left or right field foul lines should wear a helmet.  Catcher receiving throws during pregame practice must also have a catchers mask.  Any player coaching first or third base, retrieving a bat, or heading for the bench after scoring or being put out must keep their helmet on until reaching the dugout.
– Players must remain seated on the bench unless actively participating in the play.
– No adult coach or manager may warm up a pitcher at anytime (bullpen or pregame).
– No head first slide advancing to a base (ball is alive and runner is declared out), a runner may had first slide returning to a base without penalty.
– No casts (padded or not) may be worn during a game.
– Coach may go to the mound for conferences, and include other defensive players in the conference.
– A starting player may re-enter the game in any position in the batting order after his replacement has batted once and played 6
  consecutive defensive outs.
– A special runner may be used for a base runner once an inning, but not more than once a game for the same player.  Runner
must be a player not in the game at the time.
– Manager/coach is allowed three trips to a pitcher per game or two trips per pitcher in an inning.  Fourth trip per game or third per inning results in the pitcher being replaced.
– Any throwing of equipment in anger and/or demonstration of regarding judgment calls will result in immediate ejection.
– The principles of Sportsmanship will be adhered to by all participants.
– A serious injury to a player will result in immediate suspension of play; runner/runners will be placed at the appropriate base(s) following treatment of the injured player.  Safety of the players is paramount in the spirit of Little League.
– Any questions regarding a book or ground rule should be presented in a gentlemanly and sportsmanlike manner. (Judgment calls will not be discussed).
– No more than three adults will be permitted in the dugouts.  There must always be one adult in the dugout.  Two adult base
coaches may be used if one adult is in the dugout.
– Following a walk or passed ball a request for “time” should not be granted until advancing runners have stopped.  Pitcher must be on the rubber with the ball in his possession and the catcher must be in the box ready to receive the pitch, otherwise a runner may try to advance.
